I just had a brainwave, which is not very often as my brain is not always tuned in. Yes, we once had sand in our local market town of Solothurn. They decided to stage a beach volley tournament on one of our main places, and I happened to be there, with my camera of course, when it was being prepared. I do not know the if the sand originated in the desert. It was probably dragged from one of our river banks or lake shores – who knows.
Great photo. I bet you don’t have a lot of sand there. 😀

There is sand around the lakes and rivers, but we only have ice deserts, no sand deserts.

As long as they can make some money out of it.

Sand is such fun for little kids to play on and a safer ground than concrete.

As long as the sand is fresh and regularly renewed. This sand was for the adults to play their beach games.
