Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Winter Scenes

gulls-05.01-19

Through lack of snow and ice this year up to now (thank goodness) one of our Winter scenes has become the invasion of the gulls inland to our River. The sun was shining in the middle of the afternoon and even the moon put in an appearance.

And everyone is enjoying the weather taking a walk in town.

And we are getting some good sunsets in the evening.

  1. It’s warm here, too. And SUNNY today! I woke up this morning and discovered all of our bird feeders were completely empty. Literally, not a seed left. I guess they discovered the new feeders. I got one smallish one to replace the one that was all bent up and a very small one for the finches and Chicodees. They must have eaten themselves into a frenzy this morning because two of the three were entirely full last night and the third one was about half full, which is still about 2 pounds of seeds. They were fluttering madly around after I refilled the feeders. So I picked up my camera and they ALL disappeared. It’s like magic. One camera? NO birds.

I love not having to get through snow or shovel it … but the season seem rather out of place. Still, at least we aren’t up to our necks in snow.

    • Our birds are not eating so much lately, although since they discovered that I put out real walnuts and peanuts in the morning with shells, the magpies and crows swoop as the first visitors.

  2. We haven’t had snow as yet (odd) but we’re expected to get a dump of it according to all the forecasts from the 15 to the 19, so we’ll see. This last week we’ve had sun and blue sky and I could literally go outside in my usual clothes, no coat required. That quickly followed by a cold snap and although it felt cold enough to snow, it didn’t so we’ll see what we shall see.
