I went out in the garden to find a sprout and lo and behold I found many sprouts. It is sprouting everywhere at the moment, despite the snow that falls now and again. The red sprouts are the first ones to venture their sprouty heads out of the ground. Some time in the next few weeks they will turn green and eventually, hopefully at whitsun, they will flower. They are the beginnings of my peony crop. In German they are called Pfingstrosen meaning translated Whit roses.

I love seeing the peonies sprout each year ❤

I have two sorts; the filled ones and the Asian single peonies for at least 15 years.

My peonies are hardly more than little red nubs only just breaking the ground at the moment – but now the weather is warming up hopefully they’ll start to sprout properly soon enough 🙂

I also have peonies like that, but they are a different sort

Here too. The crocus and snowdrops since a few weeks, but everything has slowed down debtor the cold temperatures. My daffodil buds have still not opened, but are ready
