Easter Bunnies

Today I completed my collection of Easter Bunnies. Every year in the supermarket three easter new bunnies are born and I collect them. However there have been so many bunnies that they were becoming lookalikes and so this year we got a pink lamb and a chicken, as well as a nice blue bunny. Each of them have a symbol on their tummy, a heart, shamrock and star, and apparently these glow in the dark, although I have not yet seen this happening.

I actually gave up the idea of collecting them this year, as I was not able to go shopping until this week, being incapacitated with my broken leg. However Mr. Swiss collected the points for me and filled up three cards, and now I have the complete family. I have no idea what I will do with them, the problem being that my collection has grown over the years and they are now sitting everywhere in my “office”.

I had another pleasant surprise today. I was taking my afternoon nap, which is becoming more a marathon sleep, and hear the sound of water and something moving in the living room. My eldest son first of all wiped over the kitchen floor and afterwards continued in the living room. I used to do it every day. It was no problem, took a minute or two and as the floor is stone tiling, it kept fresh and clean. Since my accident I am gradually getting back to my cleaning routine, but it is still difficult for me and the living room floor became a little neglected, although it still looked OK. I was so pleased for the help from my oldest son. Of course, Mr. Swiss helps as well, but he has his own movability problems.

Today I achieved the week-end shopping which was a little more strenuous tha the normal, but with Mr. Swiss together I managed to complete it all. The whole world of cleaning and shopping was becoming a little foreign to me over the last couple of months, but I am gradually getting there again.

Next week I report to the chief surgeon doc at the hospital after leaving the hospital. He was not very happy that I did not go to the rehab in the Bernese Overland, where you can stay for two weeks and get the full workout for recovery. It would all have been covered by the insurance, but I told him I prefer to go home. Now I will see him next week and hope to proudly walk in, with my stick and show him that I am on the way. It is next Thursday morning which is the worst day of the year for me as it is the day when I would deal with the Easter shopping. However, we have organised almost everything and Mr. Swiss can drop me off at the hospital and pick me up afterwards, doing the remaining shopping in between.

Daily Prompt: Foreign

Good Morning

Morning clouds

A bit of a dark cloud at the bottom, so who knows how the day will be. At the moment it is very cold, but the sun is fighting its way through. I spent too much time this morning taking photos of the daily awakening, but who knows. One day my grandchild/children might look at the photos and see how gran saw the world.

Crocus

And I even have white crocus with a faint little mauve stripe. I do not even remember planting them, but I think the stripes were a little stronger when they were new.

Today I will be on my way again making the surroundings uncertain. The online shopping list has be made although Mr. Swiss and I are still holding a logistic conference about the contents. I have saddled up my walker, perhaps I should oil the wheels, although it has not yet started to creak. The nice think about my model is that it has a platform for carrying my iPad and iPhone. I have even used it for transporting my computer back to its desk from the kitchen table in the morning. They should really develop a walker for computer people with attachments for holding the mouse and other accessories. Perhaps they could integrate a battery for the computer. My wheelchair has a battery and I just have to charge in for an hour after use.

Rosemary

Not wanting to bore you with my rosemary, but it really is still flowering  and this since 8 months. I lost at least 2-3 rosemary plants over the years due to frost, but they now seemed to have accepted the Swiss climate in my garden.

Journey to Langendorf 21.03 (46)

It is now almost a year ago since the builders moved in on our block and began to strip it to the bare bones and rebuild. We suffered 8 months of disruption in our normal daily lives, but now the work is finished and things are back to normal. Everyone says how nice our building now is, but nice is one of those words in the english language that our teachers at school told us never to use, because it says something and nothing – true. However the builders have now moved on and a new skeleton of a new building has appeared along the road. In Spring a new appartment block will be built and the trucks will again be moving back and forth and above all, I will again have something to photograph. Reflecting on our odyssy, I did manage to record it all in over a thousand photos, something else for the grandchildren. I noticed there are cranes everywhere in our area at the moment showing what will be happening.

And now I must make my way to the bathroom and get ready to join the other happy shoppers in the supermarket. Yes life is back to almost the normal routine and it can only get better.

Enjoy the day, treat your computers with the respect and dignity they have earned, and do not forget, someone somewhere in this cyber world is watching your every keyboard and mouse click. Isn’t it nice to be able to share everything with others.

THE MYTH OF PRIVACY

Thanks Marilyn, this hits the nail on the head for me. This sums it all up. I am not in the States, but in Europe, but does it make a difference. They have the FBI and CIA and we have the same, but with different names.

SERENDIPITY - SEEKING INTELLIGENT LIFE ON EARTH

Who really thinks they have any privacy remaining?

What a shock it has been, discovering Facebook misused our personal data. Who could have imagined such a thing! Not.

All those cute little games on Facebook were a way for a sleazy political group to gather personal information about us and try to twist us to their goals. Like we didn’t already know that.

I also know people on the internet with blogs who think they are anonymous. They are anonymous from me, but that’s because I’m not interested enough to search for their real data. But — anyone who wants to know can find out anything they want about me or you or pretty much anyone. That’s reality.
