Retired and Enjoying Every Minute of It
I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.

Thanks, but I just had to change one of the photos, as it was actually heads only.

Fabulous. I love the chicken’s red eye! Tabby is looking very serious. Do you use your camera on the black and white setting or do you change them to b&w afterwards in the editing? Are you using a particular editing program? Sorry for all the questions!

I do not take photos with the b/w setting on the camera, the result is never so good and I am not Ansel Adams. I do have photo shop, but an older version on an older computer. I now use Ribbet. I find it just as good for what I need, and it also has an advanced supplement. I pay a small charge annually and it does the trick for me. I donot need half of the stuff that photoshop has.

I find you can do so much more with b/w photos. I love playing with the contrasts.

I love black and white photos. I’ve made some experiments but I’m not very confident.

Wonderful work on those photos. You are a technical marvel hiding away in the mountains.

Thankyou, It’s all done with the computer and a few profanities in between if it doesn’t work how I want it to.

I love your use of spot color. I have to learn to do that. I always admire it, but haven’t tried actually doing it. I’m a little retarded about processing.

It is not very difficult, but needs a steady hand. I do it manually in Ribbit, but in Photoshop you can organise the programme to do it.

If you look carfully, you can see my reflection holding the camera on the bottom right of the eye.

Thanks, it is the first time I have done monochrome for a long while, but it is fun and rewarding. You can bring a lot out of a photo in b/w.

This was the original colour of the chicken’s eye, must have been drinking too much in the roost.
