  1. We have a North American species that has the common name of Cranesbill, because when the petals fall off the remainder supposedly reminded the early settlers of a crane’s beak or bill.

  2. They seem to have become more popular since last year. They might have always been popular. I would not know since they are uncommon here. I do like the pelargoniums which we know as geraniums though.

      • Yes, that is what most people like about them. They just look more ‘natural’. Besides, the zonal geraniums that I like so much tend to look rather ‘cheap’. I like them anyway, because I have been growing them since I was a kid.
