The amaryllis have return. After an absence for almost a year (although I had one that decided to flower in August) they are appearing in the stores again, just in time for the Christmas season.

I talked with my mom today and she said she picked up a Christmas cactus that blooms many colors. First time hearing of that.

Don’t we all LOVE them….. I have already put my two artificial, but so, so real looking red ones in the window – couldn’t wait any longer. In France I used to get 3, later 2 with LONG stems from the market for 5€…. Here they are worth their weight in gold, but still I buy them, over and over.

I still have two from last year, but they probably won’t flower until next Summer. The store has no good choice at the moment, so I will wait a little.
