What does a rose have that a ranunculus does not have. Perhaps they are a little more graceful, but this ranunculus is doing its best.

Retired and Enjoying Every Minute of It
I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.

I must say by doing my daily flower I learn a lot about plant identification. If I take a photo of one I do not know at the store, I make a quick note of the name in my phone.

Fascinating name for this fabulous flower. I spent time at the local neighborhood community garden which is a block from my house. It’s about 2:40 in the afternoon here in Brooklyn so I should have most of the photos up by 11:00 pm New York city time. The Phoenix Community Garden is a lovely way to spend an hour or two. The Senior Citizens have done an outstanding job of growing food and flowers.

My mother likes ranunculus because she thinks they look Parisian. I think that they were originally developed from Mediterranean and Persian specie, but would not tell her that. They happen to do well in here garden, but only for one season.

They are certainly very spectacular, a sort of rose lookalike. You do not often see them in the gardens here, more in the stores

Yes, I see them in nurseries and my mother buys them, but they do not come back the following year.
