EMILIO’S SHARE MY WORLD – AUGUST 21, 2017

CEE is taking a week off and I have only just noticed that Emilio is standing in for the Share My World this week, so thanks Emilio

Have you ever been pulled over by a cop?

Police radar 14.12 (2)

No, not yet, although our police have devious ways. They place strange objects in places less expected. This camera was just outside the exit to our garage so we fooled them. We were not driving fast enough for a black and white photo. You don’t get pulled over usually, they send a letter in the post with your personal photo and a payment slip to pay the fine.

What have you always wanted?  Did you get it?

Wants change with age I find. At the age of 70 I now want a fully functioning body with no aches and pains. Above all I want a cure for MS.

What is your perfect pizza?

Garlic, aubergine, artichokes, the usual mozarella and tomato and I am happy – and a nice thin crust. Otherwise I quite like the one I make myself – quattro stagioni.

What inspired you this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Road to Solothurn 16.08 (12)

I at last manage an appointment at the hairdresser. It was long overdue and was getting to the stage when I was resembling Rasputin, the mad monk, or a refugee from a beat beat band of the sixties. Now I can breathe again.

Daily Prompt: Time to ooze

Two slugs mating

For slugs it is a way of life, oozing I mean. They know nothing else as to ooze their way through life. They even create life with a little oozing. When I discovered this in the garden I had to change my mind about spreading the snail poson. These two slugs carried on regardless, they were building a new family oozing their way into the creation of life. Snails being both female and male, they do not have to be fussy. If two snails meet then they get down to the oozing business.

They are both equipped with the same features, so there is no great preliminary introduction, they have a wonderful oozy time.

Renovation 09.06 (6)

Even our ever present building tribe ooze around with strange substances. One day it is black and another cream coloured Now and again it might be white, but it all has its purpose. You cannot apply the same ooze for everything, it is a science.  Sometimes I am reminded of kids who like to play in the sand at the sea-side. Just add some water and you have the ideal mud mixture. It oozes by itself. At the moment every builder is walking around with a bucket. They are applying layers of ooze to the newly constructed walls. It is important as it supplies a foundation to further ooze layers. Today the chief builder sent everyone a letter, telling how the work is progressing.

There will be various steps of ooze production, and in the second half of September we will be painted with two layers of light green ooze for the final steps of ooze manufacture. At least the ooze production will be finished, but they have other devious tricks to continue with until October.

And so to come to a conclusion there are all sorts of ooze, in various colours. It is messy, smeary, and can be sticky. Beware of the ooze, it can creep up on you when you least expect it.

 Daily Prompt: Time to Ooze

Good Morning

Unknown

I am sure you get them as well. I took a quick look in the garden, searching for a photo of the day and when I uploaded them onto my computer, this photo appeared. Who knows what it was supposed to be. I recognise my stick on the right hand side descended into the grass and probably part of my hand where I was holding the stick. The rest is left to the imagination, but you don’t always have to have blue skies, although we have them.

I was feeling rather bleary this morning. At first I slept for an hour and then awoke and sleep had gone. Usually I sleep with no problem, but there are nights when it turns into day. I tried my best. Even my arm was no longer hurting so much, another golden oldie problem that disappears as quickly as it arrives. Then I got a pain in my right leg, not constant, but shooting, nothing is spared sometimes. However, in the early morning hours, I must have drifted off to be awoken by the voices of the builder tribe in front of my window. What specialities will have have for me today? We were promised intensive work on our facade – fun.

Morning over Feldbrunnen

This is our morning sky, sun and not a cloud to be seen. Yesterday the weather prophets said we are again heading for a heat wave, the last burst of summer. Mr. Swiss does not like heat waves and is alreaday mapping out temperatures with increased humidity and staistics which are far to complicated for me to digest. I avoid the heat wave by retiring to the Eastern side of the appartment where there is no sun during the afternoon. We all have our methods.

In the meanwhle I have been seeing some interesting photos of the eclipse over the pond. In Europe we did not get the show and according to statistics the next eclipse here will not be in my lifetime. It must be strange when the animals  and insects make no noise for the time of darkness.

Any time now the postman will ring, but only once I hope. I ordered a new delivery of 3 months supply of my expensive medicine which arrives in three refrigerated boxes in summer as it must not go over a certain temperature. In Winter it is delivered under normal conditions. I have my own fridge in the linen room reserved for the medicine which is quite handy as it gives me enogh space to keep it all.

And now to move on. There are no shopping expeditions planned this morning as I have other housewife duties to achieve, so have fun. I noticed my sedum is now getting ready to flower in the garden, one of the last of the summer before everything goes back to sleep.
