It’s one I have never seen before

it’s not (sadly for you)…. It’s a ‘common’ but very pretty and sometimes quite invasive plant and I had plenty of them in France. They’re called MONTBRETIA and originally they were growing in the wild. I really like them and have seen them at the Migros store for a whopping 20.- the pot. That’s daylight robbery, if they were half that I’d have bought them. They grow again next year and are quite winter-hard.

I wasn’t sure what it was This Migros in our town does not have such a plant assortment. I know Montbretia. My neighbour has many in a few window boxes. I have never seen them in that colour. He just has red ones. They do grow every year and apparently can get quite invasive.

The red sort might be less invasive, although they would be adequately contained in window boxes anyway.

The ones I had and which I see frequently are a firey red. I love them.

Fiery red might be better than orange, because the orange is difficult to contain.
