Colour Your World: Burnt Sienna

mushrooms

My colour recognition is being put to the test. Are these mushrooms burning in sienna or not? I think so, they show all the various shades of burning sienna. According to internet information the name originates from the earth found around the town of Sienna in Italy which contains iron oxide and manganese oxide. I am sure my mushrooms contain no such elements, but just grow this way. I found them on the banks of our river Aar in Autumn which is in Switzerland and has nothing to do with Sienna in Italy.

One Word Challenge: Background

London 2015

The gates used to be open for the customers. The ground was filled with all sorts of building equipment and that only a year before this photo was made. It was a company making profits and selling things and one day, gradually, it began to empty. The concrete blocks were removed the piles of wood no longer existed and when I returned a year later on a visit to London, it was empty, deserted. What will it become? A supermarket, shops, perhaps some sort of recreation area, or will it be left to crumble? Where there were people, customers, there is now only concrete with desolate flowers, weeds, poking through the gaps and trying to win the battle against the negligence. The gates are now closed to stop the people entering, or perhaps to stop the others escaping?

Daily Prompt: Can’t Stand Me

What do you find more unbearable: watching a video of yourself, or listening to a recording of your voice? Why?

I don’t mind myself really. Since I arrived on that memorable day on 6th December 1946 I have been living with myself, watch myself grow, listened to my own voice every day. There have been times when due to a throat infection that I had lost my voice and remain silent for a while, but I survived. There were even some that found being voiceless was an improvement on my general appearance.

I am never unbearable, just a little annoying from time to time when I get a daily prompt that absolutely does not inspire me in any way.

I have often seen myself in a mirror in the bathroom when improving my general perfect appearance with a tweak here and there. Of course there is alway room for improvement, but my general appearance is OK. Unfortunately I have not yet been discovered by the film or television industry, but it is never too late.

And that’s all for today. I wanted to impress you all with a video from my iPhone but unfortunately that does not work and in any case it would spoil the picture you all have of me from my blogs. However before I go just a self portrait.
