Forget it Daily Prompt. I have had this subject before at least once and no, I am 67 years old, and am not doing it again – and again. Try something new and different as a title, this is getting just plain boring. Up to now there are only six entries, minus two that belong to the daily Russian spammers and of course the WordPress C(h)ronicle that appears every day with just a title and link and nothing worth mentioning. It is a waste of time and energy on my behalf.

I’ll probably feel the same way if I get another prompt about this, too. It’s hard to think back that many years. How about something that happened only 10 years ago, not 54-55?

I honestly think the folks at the Daily Prompt want two things.
The first thing they want? They want the older people to leave.
The second thing they want? They want us to start our own Daily Prompt.
I am not going to play this game anymore.
I may post today after my disappointment subsides.

I have secretly wanted to there to be an “I like that you liked” button. I would so press it whenever someone liked my stuff.

I know when they run out of prompts they can think of they repeat them,I haven’t seen this one before.

This manifestation may be…ahem…new, but the pathetically generic “Talk about your youth” prompt, of which this is a prime example, seems to surface rather regularly. Typically, that’s what happens. Some minor aspect is changed in the rendition of the challenge, (in this case, specifying when you were 16,) to try and hide the fact that it is a repeat, when in truth, it’s nothing by a white-wash on a tired worn-out topic that a good number of us less than youthful people who are perfectly happy in our adulthood have grown weary of seeing over and over again.

Bravo! Woot! Encore!
Nice to see there are others that despise this repetition of the inane. It was bad enough responding to this kind of drivel in the first place, (if I even did,) but to see it again? Ugh!
My guess would be that Krista is still the one writing the prompts, (even though her name isn’t as attached to them as it used to be,) and she really needs to hand the job off to someone else more often. The few so far this year that were done by someone else have been the best prompts so far.

I agree. I repurposed an old “When I was sixteen” post. Is that cheating? It probably doesn’t matter. I was hoping for something new.

I haven’t been blogging that long, so, the prompt was fine for me but I would share your exact feelings if I had been a seasoned blogger as yourself. Great post!

Man! Anything left to say? But I believe new-comers in the field of blogging need a to be known. And prompts are a better way where people actually get read. No? Or maybe I felt that way?

I read most of the contributions. It is just a bit of an unlucky time to join now when everything is new, but probably in ten years we won’t even realise that it happened.
