Retired and Enjoying Every Minute of It
I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.

There are always gardeners working somewhere in the cemetery keeping it tidy

That’s a very tidy cemetery. They are digging up our cemeteries to make room for more condos. I’m wondering what they do with the bodies when they dig them up.

They dig up the bodies here after 40 years to make room. The only alternative is to buy the land. The cemetery where our family grave was was demolished for building. Apparently there was quite a lot of curious rubble left afterwards before it was eventually removed.

I must pay another photographic visit to our local cemetery. They are also running out of space here. Old graves were dug up to make way for a shopping centre, including my grandfather’s and two other family members. There is now a garden of remembrance in it’s place.
