They are springing up everywhere in the garden. I once planted some seeds, about 25 years ago, and they are still thriving.

Today they were laboring in our garage. We had to remove all our vehicles yesterday, although I removed my two scooters this morning, to empty the garage and then the spider webs were removed from the walls and the complete floor was washed. This all happened this morning beginning at 7.00 and this afternoon at 4.00 we could replace our machines in the garage.

In the meanwhile our pavement outside was full with the cars belonging to the neighbours and of course my two scooters. Now they are back in the garage and everything under control. We were lucky that it was a nice warm sunny day and not raining. My scooters do not like rain, because of their batteries and the seat would get wet.
Now it is doine thank goodness. The next cleaning operation will be some time at the end of Winter.

I suppose I must have been about 11 years old then. I had no brothers or sisters so when we went on our Summer holiday mum always made sure we were a family group that I had some playmates wtth my cousins.. Here we were spending a holiday in England on the coast, an English seaside town. I am on the left of the photo and my dad is in the middle being swamped with sand by my cousins. The half lady on the left is my Aunt. Probably mum was taking the photo. We always had wonderful memories of our Summer holidays in England. Then you did not go to other countries, it must have been in the 1950’s and that was not something you did then. You usually spent the day on the beach combined with a swim or paddle in the sea. As you can see the photo is black and white – colour was not so normal then. Actually I took the photo of the photo.

Actually we are a smoke-free family. I do not smoke, my sons do not smoke. Because Mr. Swiss no longer lives at home but is in his golden oldie home, and at the age of 86 he still smokes, if you can call it smoking. It seems to be it is just a pasttime that he has, but an expensive pass time. Basically I do not spend money on this expensive hobby, he usually gets his cigarettes from his daughter, but she is at the moment on holiday, so he gets them from his golden oldie home.
I smoked many years ago, but since years no longer. I find it a waste of money, which could be put to a better use. Yes, I have become a distinct anti-smoker to the extent that today I walked away from my husband and left him in his golden oldie home to smoke his cigarette alone. My patience is exhausted. He could pehaps pause this ridiculous habit, but he tells me I am being unreasonable and stupid and I can no longer watch this game. So now I have let my steam escape, perhaps I am being unreasonable but I grew out of this stupid habit many years ago and today have absolute no understanding.

One cloud comes seldom alone. I am glad to see clouds again, it must be at least a month since they have gathered. At last it seems that our heat wave is no longer heating so much, although we still have temperatures of 28° C. However it can only get better and there is even a light breeze now and again.
We now even have a slight touch of rain accompanied with a light clap of thunder, but nothing dramatic. Tomorrow we have to empty our underground garage of all cars and vehicles due to a thorough cleaning operation of the ground, but this is only for a few hours. It means I must rise from my bed around 7.00 in the morning to remove my two scooters and then it is over for another half a year.
There are so many useless would be emperors looking for a new job, I think one challenger would not be enough. I do not want to name names, but there are many world governments where their prime ministers will soon be looking for a new job. If they get the job, they will no longer be in our world at last.

We are quite conservative in Switzerland and I remember when my Swiss mother-in-law told me that hanging washing in public on Sunday was not really permitted. It was just not done, but this was 50-60 years ago and times changed. Today you hang out your washing on any day, dependent on the weather. Today is ideal, in the middle of a heat wave, it dries within an hour. My neighbour has already removed the washing line and probably put everything away. It does not bother me at all.

Retired and Enjoying Every Minute of It
I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.
