  1. We have sea buckthorn shrubs planted on the west edge of our yard and the berries don’t look anything like that. The berries are small, bright orange—the colour of a mandarin—and very tightly clustered around the stem, which has long spiky thorns every now and then. The long green leaves in this picture are definitely not sea buckthorn leaves, which are narrow, grey-green and shaped like willow leaves, maybe 5cm long. But flower shops do mix & match varieties and sometimes dye berries.
