Retired and Enjoying Every Minute of It
I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.

Great! I love Tabby’s ladders!

We had three cats, and Tabby was the only one that used it, although only for descending. She preferred the jump to the top of the cupboard, and now she even jumps down. I think the ladder is now only an ornament.

An unusual brilliant idea! Did you build it?

I got it from a Swiss supplier. You can have them as long as you want according to how many steps you need. It arrived in a box with the separate parts. It is all solid wood and we manage to piece it together quite easily, so it must be good, because we are not the gifted handy men. I think we only issued one profanity whilst building it, which was quite good. You can get two widths of steps, one is wider (the one we have) for the elderly cats. Tabby is now 14 years old.

I take photos everywhere. This was at a shopping market with escalators.

Does Tabby use her ladder? I used to buy all that stuff for our cats, but they wanted old paper bags and ignored the expensive stuff 😉 That’s a very cool looking circular staircase.

Tabby was the only feline I had that used the ladder, but then only to descend. She would take one of those clever leaps to get to the top of the cupboard. Eventually she also neglected the ladder and took a leap downwards to the desk, which I was not very happy about. However, she is now becoming an elderly lady, and might think twice before doing it.

I am really loving the cat ladder. We could use it around our house. 😀
