Although Mr. Swiss has now been in his golden oldie home for five years, I still have his tie collection at home. Today wearing a Silk tie is no longer as it was, but when Mr. Swiss was a working man, oir we had something special to attend or there was an occasion in the office, then a tie was what a man needed it seems and Mr. Swiss had a good taste, although often expensive. The tie had to be silk and so it was, although in the collection above a cheap “normal” tie may also be there.
I told No 2 son he could have them, but he only chose about two or three, he is also not such a tie person and is not impressed with genuine silk. I would gladly give the to someone who would need them, but it seems no-one has interest. The photo shows only half of the collection.
When I retired, I took all my silk ties to Goodwill (a charity) and donated them. I hope they all found good homes.

I wanted to make a patchwork quilt with the ties, but never started it. Here I do not think that even a charity would be interested in them.

I don’t know a lot of people who wear ties nowadays! Seems it was all the rage years ago!

It used to be uniform when you worked in an office, but no longer thank goodness. I even wore a tie at school as it was a high school. I still have my old school tie at home.
