FOWC with Fandango: Candle

Switzerland is a candle land. At Christmas we have four candles. Each week of advent one candle is lit until the fourth week, at Christmas, when all four candles will be burning. Another custom I had to learn when arriving in Switzerland, for my first family Christmas. I still keep the tradition, although I now live alone. The Chrismas wreath is one of the customs.

RDP Monday: Appreciative

I suppose I should appreciate these reeds in my garden. They were the offspring of a seed that arrived some years ago. In the meanwhile it has expanded and grown and is actually has now become a nuiscance. Tomorrow I have the visit from my gardener – actually not a real gardener, but he does the work well – a friend of my cleaning lady.

In the meanwhile. today was the day after two days of my bank account transfer to a different bank, that everything is completed. It was a new experience for me dealing with the online creations of another bank, but it seems I did everything correctly, and all is present for me to use. I even had a small invoice to pay today for my son, which I attacked and it worked – not bad for a 78 year old. My only problem was logging out from the programme as I could not find the connection. However a quick phone call on the hotline, soon solved the problem and now I am ready to go. Actually it is similar to my old bank to use, but everything in a different position. I suppose I will get used to it eventually and the old bank connections will be a thing of the past.
