RDP Saturday: Sandwich

I am now very careful what I eat, but a sandwich is always something that is available. I no longer eat white bread, but stick to wheat or any brown full corn bread. My system no longer manages the white bread with my blood pressure problems. I am also careful with cheese, and mainly eat grano padono which is recommended when you have problems with the blood pressure.

Yes, there is a banana in the middle, something I now eat daily, although no longer in a sandwich. My mum always found in my younger days at home, that you could always make a banana sandwich for tea (evening meal). I found it OK, but today no longer. I just peel my banana and eat it as it arrives.

Breakfast is composed of two slices of full wheat bread with a spread of cottage cheese (no salt involved) and half an avocado. That suits me fine. My blood pressure is now down to 128 to 80 in the morning, instead of 149 to 90. I even got 200 blood pressure when it all began. I do not really know when it began, I just never measured my blood pressure.I am so glad I discovered my problm, and feel a lot better.

Egg and Tomato sandwich used to be one of my favourites, but those days are also gone. I no longer spread butter on my bread and my bread is no longer the sort in the photo. However, egg and tomato is OK and I adapt now with whole wheat bread, slicing an egg and a tomato on the side. Yes, there are many alterations in life if you want to avoid complications with you health, but looking at this photo, I remember the good old days.

Growing old is not fun.
