Monochrome Monday: The Bathroom

What could be better than a monochrome in a corner of the bathroom. I was playing around with the various versions of monochrome and decided on this weathered look. Actually there is a reason for the bathroom photo. My bathroom is equipped with an air vents when I switch the light on. It is no big problem but an electricity eater for no reason. I do not need strong illumination in the bathroom. I have now put one of my Fatboy lamps in the bathroom. They do not need a connection to electricity, they have some sort of battery which last a long time and is sufficient for my bathroom. I cannot use the bath because of my imobility, but have a separate shower, so no problem. I quite like my monochrome bathroom, although the tiles are actually blue.

FOWC with Fandango: Inch

This could be an inch worm, although I do not think I would use it to measure sizes, a little bit messy.

I grew up with inches in Britain. We knew nothing else. 12 inches =1 foot, 3 feet = 1 yard, 22 yards = 1 chain and 22 chains =1 furlong. 8 furlongs made 1 mile – yes I can still do it. Furlongs were mainly for horse races I believe there were 1760 yards in a mile. Even in my older years I can still remember it all. I have been living in the land of decimlals since many years, Switzerland, but the inch system has somehow stayed amongst the cobwebs in my brain. My kids probably do not even know that they once existed.

RDP Monday: Room

A room with fond memories. It was in a house that belonged to a musical friend of my husband. It was used mainly by the various music groups, and sometimes it was used as a concert room. This photo is of Mr. Swiss on the drums and other friends. The got together for a jam session, always modern jazz. It was a good time when we wives would also watch the groups.

Lens Artist Challenge #335: Exploring Colour vs Black and White

There are certain photos that should remain in colour. To show a rooster in black and white would be an insult to the rooster.

Or what could be better than such a colourful bird.

And then there is the beauty of a sunrise. Black and white, it could be any photo and nothing special-

However in colour

Another world.

However the simplitiy of a tree is enhanced in black and white.

or

Pretty yes, but with character in Black and White.

Just my simple opinion and I really did enjoy playing with these photos.
