RDP Monday: Parlour

Parlours have changed over the years, from the dust filled polster furniture with the colourful material patterns to the less colourful, but more practical assembly. I must say Mr. Swiss had a good taste and became the black leather type eventually. We were both working and with time we could afford good quality. I must say it was a good choice and our black leather, mainly De Sede furniture, has remained in good condition, no longer necessary for a daily clean with the vaccuum cleaner, but just a quick wipe with a damp cloth, at least that is my sytem.

I have been living alone in our appartment since 5-6 years and now and again changed the composition of the parlour (or living room as I better know its name). Fitted carpets, which were once a satus symbol with their quality wool, have disappeared and now have the stone tiles, which is easier to manage. The curtains have been reduced to stripes of white material. I am satisfied with my parlour/living room and would not want to return to the old systems that we had.
