Remember my bromelia? Of course it is still there, the yellow flowers have now turned brown and are unsightly, but it still exists outside on the porch and is getting its fair share of attention. According to the instructions it only needs water in the axis where the leaves meet the flower stalk. I thought its time was now gradually coming to an end, but I persevered. Just because I happen to have grey hair there is no reason to throw me on the scrap heap – yet.
So I took a closer look at my bromelia and what did I see. Yes, the new baby bromelias are showing their tips at the base of the leaves. There about 4 of them at the moment and so I am wondering what will happen. I will keep my bromelia, care for it throughout the Winter where it will find a nice safe warmer spot indoors. It is now expecting so needs care. I wonder if the babies will survive – who knows.
good luck with the babies. Does this plant get its nutrients from the air?

I have no idea. All I know is that I give water to the base of the leaf funnel and the rest it deals with itself. Up to now it has worked. I love playing with stuff like that.
