My alarm sounds at 7.30 in the morning, but do I have to leave my comfortable bed? Not really, but it is then when the motivations play their roll. Why rise? I want my breakfast – nothing luxurious, just whole wheat bread with a spread of cottage cheese. No jam or butter. I avoided the jam for some time, due to beoming diabetic. However, I am no longer diabetic. my doctor confirmed the wonderful news last week and now, after 40 years, I can eat what I want. The habit remains, and I now do not go wild with sweet elements. My cottage cheese serves its purpose of motivation to leave my bed.
I am alone during the day, my son leaves me for his workday, but who needs motivation. I cannot just sit around and do nothing. I have to have some action in my life, and so I begin with the housework after my daily washing ritual. At lunch time I like to cook something small and also prepare a few fresh vegetables for the first course – some beetroot and cucumber. I need the vitamins. And now I am motivated to take a midday sleep. It revives me and gives me energy for the afternoon. Afternoons are nothing strenuous – just 1-2 hours on the computer writing my blog. In the background my radio gives my sound track, usually the Swiss station, DRS 1, in German with some music. It keeps me up to date on the world news. My son arrives home eventually and I prepare our evening meal. I suppose I am motivated with food and so is he.
As you can see motivation plays a part in my life. It gives me something to look forward to. It is a simple life, but all I need as a golen oldie. I suppose I am an action person, always has to have something to do. Life is boring just to sit around and do nothing.
I agree, sitting around, all good for a few hours, but not constantly every day! I could not do that!

A little ecitement is always good, even if it is a new flower that blossoms in the garden.
