Our Cat Nera, now in the eternal mouse hunting chambers, just had too much fur. During the Winter it would grow to porportions that in Summer it became a home for anything that flew, crept and sleeked. It was a second home for tics and so there would be a regular visit to the vet for a hair cut. I let the vet get on with it, and they really had some good ideas of the style. Usually they would shave the body, but leave the legs and head which was really quite original.

Nera was a beautiful cat.

A real beauty. But I don’t think Henry would forgive me if I ever tried something like that on him. It’s probably a molly thing (I had to look up what a female cat is called – equivalent to a tomcat – and learned that it’s only a queen if she is not spayed.)

Nera was spayed. I think a female cat in English is a mighty.

Now that’s a word I’ve never heard.

Sorry. Wrong word, computer not obeying. The word is moggy

Moggy, I know. Molly surprised me, though. I tried to check it out and I a short search didn’t help me. None of the dictionaries I normally use know the word “molly” for an spayed female cat. A few sites claim it to be the case but maybe it was an original spelling error and one site copied from another. If it holds my interest I will delve into this further, in the meantime I stay suspicious.

We’ve had to shave our cat Annie several times….she doesn’t like it – lol, but it is for her own good….well for ours too…lol.

Nera had to have anesthetic for her fur cut. Otherwise it would have been too dangerous.

How could he forget. He once spent time getting you from under the table when you did not like being jabbed – for your own protection of course.
