RDP Wednesday: Epiphany

So my local sky was telling me in the evening, although I am not so savy with religious meanings. I think it has something to do with the twelso knoth day of Christmas, but being a convined athiest, I am not so in the picture.

I would now just like to used this opportunity to thank you all for your comments in connection with the accident from Mr. Swiss. I suppose it happened in the right place in his golden oldie home and he had immediate help. A visit to the x-ray department at the local hospital was immediately organised and when I arrived home I had a call from the doctor at the hospital to say they were organising everything and I would hear later about any nessary operation, Mr. Swiss had managed to damage his joint on the left hip and would be operate. At 3.00 am the surgeon who operated called me to say that the operation went OK and this morning I was informed by his golden oldie home that he would already be tranferred back to his room in the home and had already managed to take a few steps, with support, on his damaged leg.

I made a visit this afternoon, but he was sleeping most of the time and I am not sure if he realised I was there. Another problem of old age solved I suppose. Luckily I live near to the home and have no problem to visit. I was only trying this week to break the news to Mr. Swiss that an annual visit home at Christmas was probably no longer possible, but I think the case is now clear. I was worried about caring for him if anything happened at home, being myself no longer so mobile.

So once again thank you all for your good thoughts, it is wonderful to know that your are there for me, even if we have never met in person.

    • My son organised everything at the time. He saw that I was near to a breakdown caring for him at home and it was a good decision. Mr. Swiss was not happy about it, but that was five years ago.

    • Although Marcel has really been weakened by the operation, but he is well cared for in the senior home. At the moment I am having problems dividing myself from home, my son and Mr. Swiss. Today I visited Mr. Swiss and afterwards had to do some shopping, tomorrow is a holiday here and my son will be at home for the meals.

  1. It seems the best of the possible worlds as it is – but you make it seem so light and problem free. I’m sure you still need a lot of strength to get it all done and not least to get “your head around it”. I hope you find the strength and also the distraction which I’m sure you need on occasion and draw strength again from that. Sending you virtual hugs!
