FOWC with Fandango: Curl

My mum always said eat the crusts on your bread, it will make your hair curl. Mum had a lot of wise advice, probably coming from her London cockney background. Mum had straight hair herself, and it would only curl after a visit to the hairdresser. I do not think she ever had curly hair otherwise.

I was not so keen onj the bread crusts. so as a kid I would leave them on the side. I even bake bread myself from time to time. Today I am 77 years old, and like mum, the only time I had curly hair was after a visit to the hairdresser. As I no longer go to the hairdresser I have straight hair. Mr. Swiss has almost no hair and my No1 son is going in the same direction. No. 2 son has no problem up to now, but I will wait a few years. Dad always ate his crusts on the bread, being married to mum, but it did not help. He had no hair to get curled. And me?

Forget it.

  1. My mum said the same thing. I am sure it’s a myth but I do love crusts and I did have naturally curly hair. Not so much now. My sister did not like crusts and had straight hair. So maybe….
