If you are forced to walk with such a contraption as I am with my MS, you defenitely develop a strange gait. Thing go slower and you even have a mind map showing where the most suitable places would be to cross the road. Not all kerbs are the same height. Sometimes you descend with a thump on the road and somtimes you can slide carefully. At the moment our local street is being developped, but not for people like me. No, we are having new rails fitted for the local train which I never use. There is inconvenience everywhere and I am glad to be able to order me requirements online. I just have to be patient it seems. After all the alternations “only” take a month, or perhaps a little longer.
In the meanwhile I stumble along, one foot after the other and sometimes two feet at once, according to what my body tells me. Things that just seemed simple 30 years ago have become complicated.
