Living next to a river, we have many bridges. However this bridge I saw in Schaffhausen when I was visiting my son: a fascinating construction.
And this construction is over the River Emme in a neighbouring village.
And this is a very old wooden bridge, across the River Aare, in a village nearby. Note the one-way traffic. You have to wait patiently before cross the bridge.

This bridge crosses the River Aar in Switzerland to the village of Zuchwil along the river from Feldbrunnen where I live.
The Röti Bridge in Solothurn, Switzerland. Above you see the underside of the road bridge and below the bridge for pedestrians. This bridge is only a few years old. I remember it being built. The old bridge was replaced but was still being used whilst they constructed the new bridge next to it. It was very interesting to watch a new bridge growing, and the transfer from the old to the new bridge went very well.
Another new bridge. A new stretch of motorway from Solothurn to the town of Biel/Bienne was built in Switzerland and of course it had a few new bridges. We were on our way to Biel when I took the photo from the car. The sign on the right shows that you are now entering the Kanton/State of Bern from the Kanton/State of Solothurn, A bear is the symbol of the state of Bern on the shield.
This is the bridge at Wangen an der Aare, further along the River Aar to where I live. It is one of the typical old Swiss style covered bridges. I have crossed it often with Mr. Swiss at the wheel. I do not like driving across myself. As you can see from the sign, it is one traffic, and you have to be careful that no-one is coming from the opposite direction when you drive across.
