Actually it is an ornamental flowering onion, according to the Wikepedia description, but it does not look much like an onion. I have had them a few years in my garden and they are always good for an impressive flower. At the moment they are busy with their buds. From the size it looks like it will be a good year. I just hope it does not get very much colder, although I do not think that will damage them. At the moment we are a cold spell and now and again we even get a few snow flakes. Our local mountain is now quite white at the top which is unusual for this time of the year, but the weather gods tell us it can only get better.

Let me put it this way, still about the same. But there is promise of rain this weekend and that comes with no pollen :D

Alliums are nice. Our first two arrived here only two years ago. I should not have put off growing them for so long.

They are quite impressive when they open up. To think their origin would be an onion.

Yes, it is too pretty to be an onion.
