FOWC with Fandango: Available

Bein a Brit, I still like to follow the developments in England, although from a distance, usually via the new on the radio. At the moment they seem to be suffering on a shortage of the usual vegetables, which we need for our daily food. It is mainly the on season al vegetables such as tomatoes, cusumbers and other daily food that is dependent on certain weather conditions and the weather has not been good for these various products. Naturally the British governement have a super solution and advise the public to buy only seasonal vegetables, such as turnips, carrots, cabbage etc. Just the vegetables avaialble in the Winter season.

  1. Here too out of season fruits and vegetables are costly. It is interesting that years ago water melons were seasonal fruits but now we get them through out the year. Many changes are happening. How are you and family?

  2. A lot of winter fruits and vegetables show up in my grocery from Mexico, Central America, and South America (Chile, Peru). It’s difficult to imagine how much effort it takes to satisfy off season tastes. Of course, the price reflects that effort.

    • There are many vegetable growing countries in Europe that have a shortage of water and warmth and many countries no longer are getting their vegetables as usual. It is mainly tomatoes and cucumbers that are affected. I suppose we are just spoilt for everything.
