FOWC with Fandango: Upgrade

My two year old amaryllis has upgraded itself. I never throw them away when the flowers are gone, you never know. This one grew a few new leaves, but nothing special. They wilted and disappeared, however, never give up. This morning I noticed my patience had been rewarded. Yes, a new bud has appeared. I will now be giving it more water and encouraging its growth. It is not the first time an amaryllis has made a new flower, but this one was really exhausting my patience. However, it is making a new flower, hopefully in time for Christnas.

  1. Like you I save mine. I pot them up and put them in the garden in the summer. In September I take the bulb out of the pot and let it dry out in a closed paper bag. In late November I repot and water. Between late December and into February they often will rebloom.

    • I do something similar with mine, and they return again. I will have to try it with the paper bag. I was surprised that this one returned, as I did not have so much time or patience this year.
