Fiction Writing
I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.

One of my favorite herbs, your rosemary seems very happy in that pot.

It’s gorgeous, Pat. I bring mine in in the winter and keep it well-watered and it does fine. It’s a plant I rub the needles on each time I pass it and the smell is a mood lifter. I have also started cutting 6″ pieces off and rooting them in water and multiplying them. A friend told me that deer hate rosemary so I’m going to surround my Asiatic lilies with rosemary in the spring.

I keep it outside all year. Up to now after many years nothing has happened.

I bring it in more to appreciate its scent than for fear of freezing. Good to know though! Yours looks very healthy. Mine is kind of spindly.

What a beauty this is. There is nothing quite like cooking with rosemary.

I have all sorts of fresh herbs and they certainly add flavor to the dishes.

It grew everywhere in Jerusalem including — with great enthusiasm — the the sidewalk cracks and in our backyard. It was the one spice I never had to buy and it smells wonderful.

It grows well here, but you have to be careful that it doesn’t freeze in Winter.
