What was this guy celebrating in our town. The statue has always been there. It is showing a memory of the heroes of Dornach from the Swabian War in 1499 between the Swiss and the House of Hapsberg to put it in a nutshell. It does not form part of my historic knowledge, but the Solothurn Swiss never forgot it. Switzerland has been a home for many refugees over the years and I am sure that there were a few after this war.
