I have these in my garden. It is the giant relative of the normal Rudbeckia. That begin to grow in spring and need all year to reach their height. At the end of August they begin to open their buds and are one of the last to remain in the garden.

It got quite exciting in the garden. The slug and the snail were having a race to the top of the stalk. It seems the snail was in front, but the slug was getting faster. It was a gamble who would win, but I bet on the slug as he did not have to carry a shell on his back.

Even bees float if they fall into a bowl of water. However, no animals were harmed in the creation of this writing, and I rescued it from a watery demise.
