Remember the beginning of the Covid when we all had shut down. This is the local book store, closed.
And this was the restaurant in the supermarket.
And this Electro store was a complete shutdown.
The optician was also closed.
How did we manage to survive. We did it with masks and isolation and hoping the day would come when everything was open again,
FOWC with Fandango: Closed
Ah, yes! I remember it well. Now everything is open again but we have drought, fires, hosepipe bans, and politics in a strange state. Where have all the flowers gone – that tune keeps going through my head.

No such problems yet In Switzerland but they are lurking.

It’s becoming a European problem, no doubt about it. I’m going to re-think my garden for next year, more Mediterranean plants and less of the ones I love but which also love water.

I had to reorganize my garden when I became less mobile with more.perennials.

I did that this year as well but somehow, when I visit garden centres I end up buying totally unsuitable plants as I’m like a kid in a sweet shop bedazzled by colourful illustrations of what my garden could look like if I purchase just a few more perennials. Still, the extra lavender and rosemary are fine!

I have a herb bed with everything I need for the kitchen. Perhaps I should get some lavender.

Yes, do. It withstands very dry weather, smells great, and you can pick bunches for the kitchen as well, and if you’re inclined, you can make lavender bags for your drawers. I don’t like sewing but a friend gave me a worthwhile tip which is to cut up some tights and make little pouches for the lavend).
