M hollyhock on the edge of my garden made another flower. I really did not expect this as I have no hollyhocks in my garden now, but somehow a seed decided to germinate.

Like some of the feral seed that finds thir way into our landscapes, hollyhock seems to appear in situations where it is an asset to the landscape. It grows tall in the background of lower perennials and annuals. I could not plant it in situations that are any better than those that it decides on.
