It looks a little bit like Society Garlic to me. A lot of people don’t like the scent of it, but I think garlic is such a great smell.

It is Isotoma axillaris, which is commonly known as laurentia. I have not seen it in a long time. The common Isotoma fluvialtilis that I am familiar with is a low ground cover with tiny bluish white flowers that looks nothing like this.

It might be German, but I believe that it is also a common name. Latin names are preferred for their universality. We all use the same Latin names. Common names, such as laurentia, are regional, so likely different between Switzerland and here. However, a few have the same names in different regions.
