FOWC with Fandango: Bodacious

Bodacious? Why do we have so many words in the English language that I do not understand or know. This word reminds me of Queen Boadicea who was a Amazon type lady that led the Brits some time when we began to count the years. Wikipedia tells me she died some time in 61 and spent most of her life riding a large chariot. I decided my Hosta leaves in the garden are something bodacious, at least this is how they are growing at the moment.

I also have other sorts, but not so large.

  1. Hihi -. I had the same association about Boadicea as well at first. Then I somehow thought it had to do with voluptuous. And then I consulted a dictionary. – Hostas are really amazing. They look so dismal in autumn and disappear in winter and then – WOW!

    • I also consulted a dictionary, but decided to do my own thing. It often happens that I only find a German word when I write and have to use at online dictionary to find English word.
