A normal morning all on my own, except for the visit of a wandering cat now and again. I even got post today which is also becoming quite rare. At least I am not swamped with invoices to pay. It is quite strange to open the letter box and find it empty. We had voting at the week-end and for the first time in a long while I voted on our referendums and was quite interested to see the results. We vote mainly by post. It seems the Swiss folk were the same opinion as I was with our national decisions. The local Kantonal events had more divided results, but I am more or less happy with the decisions.
There was not very much action outside the golden oldie home today, but the rabbits were quite active. They are quite big and have quite long legs. I did not realise that rabbits could move so quickly.
This afternoon I was quite busy. I asked whether they could fetch Mr. Swiss scooter for him to have in the home and this afternoon they fetched it with their van. I had to drive it out of our garage but it would not fit on their ramp to the van. As it was just around the corner one of the guys drove it there. Now Mr. Swiss has it in his residence which is quite good. One of the guys who organises stuff said it would be quite good when they go on a visit to a restaurant. He had a look at the scooter and discovered that Mr. Swiss could hang his walker onto the back so there would be no problem going inside the restaurants and could leave the scooter outside. As it will be parked outside the home they needed a cover for it, but also no problem. One of the assistants ordered one and it will be delivered tomorrow. They really do look after everything.
Lucia, my cleaning lady, called to say she was still on holiday somewhere in another country and would not be coming tomorrow. That was OK for me as the place is quite tidy. She will be coming on Wednesday afternoon. Today I finished organising all my cupboards and drawers and now know what I have and where it is. There is a place for everything. I found a collection of leaflets and books from our past holidays. I went through them and kept the interesting books – New York, London, Vienna and Göteborg where Mr. Swiss spent quite a lot of time as he was working for Volvo and often travelled to Sweden. Also a few maps of various cities in the world, and of course some Swiss maps. A few holiday memories came flooding back.
Now I can start taking a closer look at the cellar room. I think I found CD Rom in every nook and cranny when I was organising. Today no-one needs them. I even found a small portable CD player that runs on batteries. I do not know if it works but will have a look.
And now to move one for the rest of the evening. I wish you all a good rest of the day or night or whatever.
