FOTD 7th July 2021: Spirea JaponicaSaw this one growing on the way into town. I had to search for the name on my plant finder, so I hope it is the right name.
FOTD 7th July 2021: Spirea JaponicaMy nemesis changes its shape daily. Today it was the laundry, The white towling wash, the one that takes longer then an hour in the machine to finish. The one that you hang up in the evening and when you arise in the morning it is dry: at least it should be. Today it rained, the weather was damp and the washing had no chance to dry itself. I like to put it away in the morning, but today this nemetic threat was hanging all day in the apartment. It was tranformed into neat piles during the afternoon when I was shopping. I left the message with Mr. Swiss to perhaps deal with it when it had decided to dry its threads. When I returned home there were neat little piles all nicely sorted.
The nemetic threat had dried itself. I told Mr. Swiss not to put it in the cupboard. I knew that my nemesis would overwhelm his possibilities as I often have problems with it myself. And then he would have the nemesis of finding that the laundry did not fit in the cupboard.
We have now conquered this nemesis, but just to make room for the next. That is already waiting in the shadows. Tomorrow I will have to change the laundry on our beds. I tell you there is a nemesis in every corner, beware. The nemetic threats are just waiting to pounce.
RDP Wednesday: NemesisWhat a dismal rain soaked morning. I do not think it has stopped raining since yesterday afternoon. I should really get out to visit the stores for a few things, but in this wet weather sitting on a scooter is not fun, because with rain jacket you will still get wet. The perfect solution for keeping dry on a scooter has not yet been discovered. There are a few ideas, but none very effective. My only chance today is to hope for a pause in the rain. Mr. Swiss said take the local train. Not a very brilliant idea. It involves five minutes of struggling along in the rain with my walker to reach the station, mounting the train and when I arrive at my destination, another five minutes of walking to the store. Afterwards loading up the walker with the shopping and dragging it all back home. Sometimes life can be so complicated.
Everything is wet, wet, wet. Perhaps it might stop for an hour in the afternoon.
I naturally spent the day at home yesterday. I was in a bit of a dilemma with my bread. I have enough frozen, but prefer it fresh, although only had a few remainders. I did not really want to bake a full loaf as then I would have too much. However, there is always a solution.
I decided to bake a focaccia, an Italian bread, but a quicker product. The dough is made quickly. It is a flat bread so bakes faster. Just a spread with some olive oil and a sprinkle of fresh rosemary needles with salt and then bake it for 20 minutes. We all like it. No need to cut it in pieces, we usually tear it apart. I always use pizza flour to make it. I only make as much as we eat, so nothing left afterwards. I find you have to eat it fresh for the best taste.
Has it stopped raining? I hear no pitter patter outside, although I never go anywhere in the morning, but prefer to make my journeys in the afternoon.
I will now depart to the daily chores, although Wednesday does not have so many. I just have to sort the washing from yesterday’s cleaning spree, which is still a little damp. However, no rush, I no longer have the energy for speedy gonzales work. Keep safe evryone.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain!

I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.
