Spring is everywhere at the moment, although a little early. Today I saw these tulips at the cemetery, but I think they were put there as a decoration. It might be a nice Spring, but a little early to have tulips flowering.
I bought a big bunch of tulips today – they are very cheap at the moment, I believe because the growers just can’t pick them and the immigrant staff are no longer allowed to come here to work so rather than have them rotting in the fields locally, they are selling them cheaply. Normally, I fill the house with the golden yellow of the daffodils at this time of year but today it’s the more sophisticated tulip. I wonder how long they will last. I have my heating up rather high – or so my friends tell me. It seems just OK to me.
Ah, orchids I cannot keep, they die on me so quickly, so I stick to cut flowers which I love. I expect them to die within a week or so, so I’m not disappointed.
so do mine! In comparison, the ones I had in pots in France, they are at least 2-3wks behind here in Switzerland but that was always so. They will emerge when THEIR time is right.
I am Ahmed Abdi, a Wordpress blogger and storyteller who searches for stories that inspire people. I love writing because it’s a reflection of how I perceive the world around me. Lost in a world of endless chaos in my childhood, Unforgettable moments of tragedy and triumphs taught me the art of storytelling where I found myself through letter writing and then turned into stories but then sadly had lost everything I wrote for years. In 2018, I decided to create a Wordpress blog site that would allow me to store and retrieve every piece. Stories from my community, city and people are what make my writing so interesting and inspiring! I’m a tea lover so a cup of tea sometimes makes my blog.

I spotted these tulips at the local cemetery. I rarely have cut flowers at home, but now and again treat myself to an orchid

I am quite successful with orchids. I can keep them a long while and they often re-flower
