There I was on my way to the computer – and kitchen – wondering how to start a good morning when I really had no new photos. Yesterday it rained all day and was still raining this morning early and then it happened. I charged up the computer and it started to tumble down. Rain quickly became think flocks of snow and according to the prediction we will be having our share of snow today – all day. What could be better? I know, I used to hate the snow, uttered many shameful profanities about it and now I find it pretty, a wonderful photo subject. How come the change? That’s easy. Online shopping, staying at home and having a full fridge and freezer. What a wonderful life this is becoming.
This morning I will be getting a new delivery from the supermarket to even boost my supplies. I sometimes feel a bit guilty knowing that there are many that do not have the same opportunities.
Another positive development in my Swiss life is that yesterday the local government announced that we can now book our vaccination appointment online, on the computer. They have supplied the web address and I had a quick look yesterday evening to check. The address is there and probably I will book myself a place today. Yesterday evening was too late for a golden oldie like me to begin discovering what my computer can do for me. Evenings are reserved for the iPad, or perhaps the iPhone and TV of course. It seems my Kanton has not forgotten me and this is a case of not asking what you can do for your Kanton, but what they can do for you. Short explanation: Kanton is the Swiss form of State. I am in the Kanton of Solothurn. At the moment I would not even be able to get to the vaccination station, being slowly submerged in snow, but according to what I have seen in the statistics, it will only be my turn some time in February. Up to now they have managed to vaccinate 60,000 in our Kanton.
Not many birdie photos today, although as I was sitting here Mr. Robin showed up to see what was on offer. Otherwise the other birds are now flocking to the birdhouse as they always do in the snowy weather.
It was almost Christmas yesterday. I had a mail delivery of the home comfortable trousers I ordered about a month ago, followed by a new pyjama parcel for Mr. Swiss and the finale was just before lunch time when the parcel postman arrived yet again and brought me the bread baking form I had ordered with the necessary bread cook book. What could be better, I am now a happy bunny and have everything I ordered, although I will probably find something else that I must have.
Only a few more days and Mr. Trump will disappear from the world – we hope. His servants are now packing his bags and it will soon be the day when he says to all that the last one to go should turn off the light. He is not my problem, but a big problem for the country where he reigns. In the meanwhile keep safe and keep blogging. You are all my second family so it is always good to hear from you. Just a little like with a mouse click does it nicely and if you have more to say, all the better. Have fun. I leave you with a picture of my outside porch, before the big snow started to tumble down. They are not yellow, it is the reflection of the light outside on the porch. It switches on automatically when it is dark enough.

Yes, snow can be appreciated best when you don’t have to get out in it! I enjoyed the look at your “world”, with its light dusting of snow. We are enduring high winds here this week. Add snow to bursts up to 120 kph, and you have a blizzard! Yes, on a snowy day with but being retired with a full refrigerator and pantry, a warm cup of tea, a purring cat, and winter is OK!

Unfortunately my purring cats, all three of them, are not longer and living their tenth lives but otherwise the scene is set. The light dusting has now become a thick layer in the meanwhile, but it is no longer so cold. I really do have the perfect situation at the moment.

It happens to me constantly, sometimes I see them and sometimes I don’t. I think we are now all used to it and read it with the mistakes, not even noticing they are there. 🙂

Oh my gosh–yesterday was Christmas for you! I almost love ordering online for the sheer joy of waiting for the package to arrive.
Trump was going to leave the day before the inauguration, but now he says he wants a big sendoff. All his people either quit or left town. He just needs to go!!!

I think he will get a big send off. Everyone will be celebrating because he is going. And the internal revenue people will be waiting for him with open arms.
Our morning parcel arrivals are really like picking the christmas tree. Nearly all my neighbours have some sort of parcel waiting for them.

Gads! President Trump has been such an embarrassment. I do not doubt that he sort of had good intentions, and I do not doubt the qualifications of those he worked with, but GOODNESS(!), the BEHAVIOR! I can not understand that with so many people to choose from for the job, we always seem to get those with so many problems. In a few days, we will be getting someone who most of us like (even those who did not vote for him), but who we also know is a criminal.

Not only an embarrassment to the Americans, but all over Europe he has become a laughing stock, although it is rather pitiful. If you want to be a politician you have to have a criminal streak, otherwise you will not survive. I Biden is a socialist and so many think he is a communist, but socialism is not automatically communism.

I hope that his socialistic tendencies do not become a problem. I doubt that they will, but I am concerned about how socialists spend resources. It is ridiculous! Something that President Trump’s administration wanted to do was reel in some of the spending. It got so crazy during President Obama’s administration, and will likely do the same now. Poor and homeless people who I am involved with are supposed to want more subsidized ‘programs’ that make their lives easier. However, most prefer better opportunity, and improved potential to get jobs.

Good afternoon, my day has started excellently. The noise in my head is much better, I have almost is much better. We may have overcome our problem with Pumpkin. After 4 tries to get medicine into her, the fifth was successful and she is doing much better. Only 5 days to wait for Biden to be sworn as our President. After endless days my Twitter feed is now mostly about books and gardening. The sun is shining here and the days are getting longer, we now have about 11 hours of sunshine. As I am not anxious about the vaccine, I have not made an appointment for it. State safe in your snowy area.

We had a day of snow today so I didn’t go anywhere or do anything special. Ingot ma shopping delivered and am now all set for the weekend. Even ordered next weeks food for delivery on Monday.

That first photo is so picture perfect. I think it belongs in a frame and is just what I think a snowy scene should look like, having never seen snow. Or perhaps a Christmas card face?
