  1. yes, Portulak is lovely, modest and colourful!
I personally would be flattered to be asked a plant’s name, so I don’t know where the problem could lie.

      • How I know that feeling!!!! πŸ˜‰
I’m married to a French speaking Swiss who doesn’t like to speak German and doesn’t really understand Swiss German, think mostly in English due to being in contact to mostly E speaking friends, then have to talk/phone/explain in Swiss German, I manage 3 language-keyboards on my electronic equipment and get often mixed-up in another language (= awful autocorrects)…. the mind boggles what the mind can do! AND THEN THE LATIN FLOWER NAMES on top of it all πŸ˜‰

    • I would sort of prefer them to be a bit more invasive than they are. I had been warned about their potential to be invasive, but never got them to grow well. We just tried them again last spring, but they did not last through summer. I like them enough to grow them again anyway. Mine were different from these. They have more cylindrical leaves. The weedy form lacks colorful bloom, but is eaten as a vegetable. It is the one that had been more invasive, although even it is not too much of a problem.
