I think this was the first time that I won a school prize. It seems to be in 1962 at school for progress. I do not really remember making any progress anywhere, but here it is to prove it. The book even had the school coat of arms of the cover with its motto “spe, labore, fide” I never did latin at school but I think it means hope, work and faith. I was always hoping at school that it would soon be time to go home. Then I had about an hour of homework and I had faith that it would soon be the week-end, or perhaps school holidays. Perhaps that was why I got the prize. Note the book is no longer in perfect condition. I think it was The Three Musketeers from Alexandre Dumas. It was the only one left to choose from.
RDP Wednesday: Prize
You made me remember a prize I got in elementary school for penmanship. It says, “Martha Ann Kennedy is a Good Writer.” Not literary criticism, though. 😉

I had a few of school prizes too. I wonder where they are now.
