Both mum and her chick were sleeping when I past by this afternoon. I could not blame them, I also had an afternoon sleep. Life is funny. When it all starts, in the baby stages, you sleep almost all day, just waking up for food. As time progresses you need less sleep and eventually life gets serious with school and work and there is no time for sleeping on the job.
As you get older you slow down and eventually when your working life is behind you, you are glad for the chance to sleep after lunch as it is less embarrassing than falling asleep at work, resting your head on the desk and hoping that the boss does not notice.
Today Mr. Swiss and I are both golden oldies and our after lunch sleep has
almost become more important that the night sleep. Sleep at night has far too many interruptions and visiting that special place has become a regular journey.
