FOWC with Fandango: Squeegee

I did not even know there was a name for it. I just call it my floor mop, and a very good one it is. I have no mechanical squeezer for removing surplus water. It is all done my physical strength, a rinse under running water and a tight squeeze by hand, but it works. You can see I have enough extra mop heads,  as I use a fresh one daily. I have mainly stone tiled floors and my squeegee is excellent for keeping them clean with a daily wipe over, but just plain water. I do not need cleaning liquid, it would only make marks on the floor.

The job is quickly done and I can clean the mop heads in my washing machine. There is no doubt about it, I just love my Squeegee.

  1. I have a similar mop, you don’t need a lot of water with these and it is very quick on the small amount of vinyl flooring I have here. I don’t call it a squeegee though. I thought a squeegee was the thing you used to clean windows or bathroom tiles usually just a rubber strip but sometimes with a sponge as well. I even looked it up and I see that some manufacturers do call microfibre mops like you have squeegees too so I guess it is one of those catch-all words. Very useful anyway and better than carting buckets of water around.

    • I find it very practical and a quick mop over daily keeps everything nice and clean, especially as my floor tiles are a light colour. I had never heard the name before, but find it a good description
