FOWC with Fandango: Engine

Bipperlisi 02.07 (1)

The train through the village is now empty
There are no passengers, not even twenty
Where have they gone, not waiting at the station
They are watching through the window whilst living in isolation
Memories of going to town, enjoying all the shopping
Now they just have images  of trains, not even stopping
One day this will be over, in the meanwhile they are winging
Wanting to travel the train again being pulled by its engine

  1. The world is surreal with the lack of school children clogging the crosswalks at the start and end of the day. The road signs by schools tell drivers to slow to 20 mph// roughly 32 kph for the hours before, during, and after school during the week. So does one mindlessly drive 20 mph there or the higher speeds outside the school limits? I test the law by driving the higher limit while coming and going from dialysis, about the only reason for me to be on that street anyway. “But officer! There are no school children out and about today. They are taking their lessons by laptop and PC and tablet these days. There will be no school for the rest of the school year!”

    • It’s similar here, although I am no longer so much in town and just drive to the local supermarket, having nice comfortable half empty roads on the way. It did seem strange at the beginning, but now I have got used to it. I often see children shopping with their mothers, or teenagers shopping for their grandparents.
