Good Morning

Being a little later, as it is cleaning lady day, I really thought I would have a wonderful morning photo with sunshine and great colourful scenery. However the sun is having a long sleep today. This is not a monochrome photo, although it looks like it. The absence of colour is mainly the fault of the mist we have today. It is also quite cold and the only birds that have ventured out are the sparrows. The magpies and crows made only a short guest appearance to gather a few peanuts and walnuts.

I was astonished to suddenly see these two jays having a munch on the bird seed yesterday. I was busy in the kitchen and when I looked out of the window they were both there together. Now and again I get a visit from a jay, and this time the wife came with him. Otherwise they are usually loners. and only arrive when no other birds are around.

And then I was again in the right place at the right time when this one decided to take flight. I am gradually becoming a bird watcher it seems.

Otherwise it was a trip to the store in the afternoon. One of the advantages of afternoon shopping is that there are no crowds when shopping. This is the entrance floor, the actual action takes part on the first floor where the groceries are.

This is where I get my flower photos in the gardening department. At the moment they have a good selection of azalea and it seems that today for a week they will be on a special offer a few francs cheaper. I am thinking about it. I like to have a few flowering plants at home to add a bit of colour to the living quarters.

This afternoon Mr. Swiss and I are both off to the docs. We both need blood tests, just for a check. I am diabetic, and have to have a long term sugar test, as well as having a check due to my MS injections that I take every second day. I feel Ok, as OK as it can get under the circumstances so it is really just a check.

And that’s that for now. Hoping that the sun will make an appearance eventually. Have a good day everyone.

  1. Those blue jays are so beautiful. The flowers, too. Presumably they get them from other parts of the world? I remember visiting the Aalsmeer Flower Auction many years ago. It was breathtaking.

  2. You have such a nice, big garden department. We have one too, but it is a LOT smaller.

Becoming a birder is one of the gradual things. One day, you are just looking at them, maybe grabbing a picture. Then, a few weeks later, you realize you’ve gotten sucked in. There are worse hobbies!

    • Our garden department is quite good. They always have something new every week.
I so look forward to discovering a new bird, Often they mix themselves amongst the sparrows and you only spot them on a photo.

  3. That’s a pretty cool florists’ department. When I grew cut flower many years ago, I sort of wondered why some of the commodities were as popular as they were, or what consumers did with them. I always thought the colorful bare twigs of red-twig dogwood seemed strange. Yet, those who enjoy cut flowers know what to do with them, and how to use them creatively.
