Last year’s geraniums got very scraggly by midsummer. And now, there’s no room for plants. We have birds. And squirrels.

We had them in our garden when I grew up in NJ. I have never seen them down here in sunny Florida. We had white, red and pink. A very long ago memory…. These are very pretty.

Ha! This one makes me laugh because Brent (my colleague down South) gave me two for my upstairs front porch balcony back in the early 1990s. They were of the group of cultivars known as ‘Balkan’ geraniums, probably because they were popularized in the Balkan region. He thought the were ‘Balkan’ geraniums because they looked so good cascading from a ‘balkany’ (balcony).

I call the hanging geraniums. We have Swiss chalets with hundreds of them cascading over the balconies. I can understand he confusion Brent had.
