Like the horses in our village, I have regained my freedom. My many years of housewife prison and working are over, but I needed time to really realise and enjoy it. After the first days of retirement I had to find my way. So many things have changed since then, things that we do not imagine could happen.
We are both in the grey hair group now, if you still have hair (ask Mr. Swiss). Some golden oldies can still move, go on adventure holidays and discover things they missed out on when they were younger. We have to make the most of what we have. I have my freedom with an electric wheelchair and as I said yesterday, I am driving a car again and enjoying it, which I never thought I would. It is as if I have a new project to realise and have discovered there is still a life out there. It is an adjustment in life.
I just spent the last half hour, with Mr. Swiss, talking to my son and daughter-in-law and watching my grandson. I can no longer travel so far, or Mr. Swiss. They live 200 kilometres away on the Swiss-German border, but with a phone you can do everything. The video conference is one of the new aspects to use. We talked over the loud speaker on the telephone, I could take photos of what was happening, especially of my grandson, and it was as if they were in the room with me. That is the freedom I now enjoy. Oh thank you world of communication.
Rediscovering freedom is awesome.

I was reading in our newspaper this morning that there is ongoing work on an electric wheelchair called ‘Wheelie’ (I think you should receive royalties for the name!). It uses facial recognition for those in a wheelchair who are not able to use their hands for the controls. Freedom!

Sounds good. Knowvsomeone in the Verlage, also with MS. She can no longeruseher hands very well and that would be ideal for her

I’ve been on a two-week prednisone holiday, so I’ve felt SO MUCH BETTER for this period, I’m working my way up to asking if there’s some way to keep this up. I’m almost 72 and I don’t want to spend it crippled if I have a choice, even if it’s not an entirely healthy choice. I’d rather be a little unhealthy but mobile! Freedom includes the ability to actually move!

My movements are a little complicated. I must be very careful. I noticed that everythingmust be in its right placed and fixed. It is the moving articles that get me off balance.
